The town this picture was taken is is Houston, TX, i work in one of those buildings :P and this is concept look at the positioning of the cars and the light. Still cool tho.....
It's clearly a concept idea, not real. Think of exactly HOW we would pull that off, in a way that would allow the car to dry through afterwords...not possible yet, by my understanding.
@Corey It is a concept only because it would really expensive, that image is made from connecting moving laser lights, its only an illusion that the 'pictures' are motionless. Something like the floating water fountain.. :)
this would give a reason for a driver not to be able to fib they're way thru saying they didnt see it.. it could be done by maybe projector or something...its sad that it has come to this
Would be great, but I live in Japan and I've never seen anything like that. Plus, even banks here don't use computers; everything's paper and rubber stamps. Credit cards with chip and PIN are unheard of. Japan sells technology to other countries but is firmly set in the past itself. If anything new like this happens, expect the Japanese to pilot the project overseas for about 50 years before introducing it here!
That is tight.
This cannot be real.
this hasnt actually been made yet.
That's not even in Japan. It looks like New York. Or at least somewhere in the rustbelt.
it's just a concept. look at the cars that are stopped at it.
And look at the people crossing - something not quite right about them ;-P

Japan, Cleveland, Cairo, what's the difference?! I just think the people crossing like a uniform monocolor look, there is nothing wrong with that.
Yeah, it's not Japan. The buildings just don't have the same look, and in Japan they drive on the left side of the road, I think.
It looks Kool!!
I wonder how it works. I would like to put it no signalized intersection which has high ped volume.
It was shot in Downtown Toronto

This is really amazing. concept is ok but i don't think this laser traffic system apply without any surfase.its very difficult to apply in the street.
Just think of all the sixties people (ahem, like myself) who are going to think they're having a flashback...whatever, cool idea.
